Gala Weekend 26 - 28 June 2009

Wimblington Sports and Community Committee are well into organising the Gala Weekend  for 26-28th June 2009 and the Summer Show will be held on  Sunday      28 June. As usual, the show will be held at Parkfield in Chapel Lane with presentations at 5 p.m.  Why not show off you talents and enter one of  the many sections.  Kids will have fun making cakes and gingerbread men to enter into the competition.  They can show off their paintings and drawings.   Mums and dads come and show of your prowess at baking and preserves, vegetable growing, flower arranging and much much more.  Click here to see more information.

Litter Pick 26 September 2009

A Litter picking session has been arranged in connection with Street Pride.  We will meet at 10 am at the parish hall car park and split into groups to target specific areas in the village.  We will finish at 12 noon.  Why not come along, its only a couple of hours but it can make all the difference. 

RSPCA Block Fen Open Day 19 July 2009

Come and meet all our animals. We have planned lots of things for you to see and do. Bring your dogs and enter our fun dog show, try out agility and flyball or check how fast your pooch is in the 'Fastest Recall" competition.The RSPCA's Animal Centre for Cambridgeshire is holding a day of fun and activities on Sunday, July 19th and everybody is invited to come and have a good time. No entry fee but a donation would be warmly welcomed - we also feel the bite of the credit crunch.We are planning to have lots of stalls, entertainment and interesting displays - something for everybody. Dog show with novelty classes; entries are taken from 11am - judging starts at 12 noon; entry fee £1 per class. All we need now is good weather and plenty of visitors. If you are after a good day out, something to do for the kids and for the dog - please come along on the day. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
