Doddington Patient Participation Group
The Doddington Patient Participation Group has recently purchased several items of equipment for use in the surgery at the Doddington Medical Centre and also for on loan to the patients such as those suffering from Asthma. In addition to a digital camera presented last year for surgery use, the recent items included a Ring Cutter, Woods Light, Thermometer, Ophthalmoscope, two Otoscopes, a Suction Unit, plus two Nebulisers for patient loan when required. These cost £2130 in total from PPG Funds and have already been put to good use. Access
the Surgery via your Computer The
Doddington Medical Centre now has an on-line facility for patients to be
able to make appointments; ask questions of the medical team; request repeat
prescriptions, all via their home computer. More
patients are requested by Dr Simon Hambling to sign up to the Computer Supply
Service at the Doddington Medical Centre. By doing so, patients can help speed
up services within the surgery, especially by taking up less time on the
telephone thereby enabling those who have to use the telephone a better chance
of getting through at peak times. It also means they can decide for themselves
which available appointment times, from those set aside for the purpose, are
best suited to their needs. Patients
wishing to register must call into the surgery to receive a password for their
personal use. This can only be done at the Doddington Surgery in Benwick Road,
Doddington. However it would be advisable to call Mrs Welcher, the Practice
Manager, first. NB.
The Doddington Medical Centre also has its own web site, www.doddingtonmedicalcentre.nhs.uk, giving full details of the
surgeries and services. Dr Hambling would like to hear from anyone with
experience of web site authoring who would be willing to assist with updating
the design and general layout of the site. Tony
